or missing important transactions?
Bookkeeping Cleanup & Catch-Up for Contractors
Accurate, organized, up-to-date books, built for how contractors actually run their business.
Is your bookkeeping behind, full of errors, or missing transactions?
When you’re running jobs, managing crews, and chasing payments, the books are the first thing to slide. Maybe a bookkeeper left, receipts piled up, or the numbers never matched what was happening on your job sites. The longer it sits, the harder it is to know which jobs make money, and the more stressful tax time and loan applications become.
CH Bookkeeping USA’s cleanup and catch-up service brings your books current and gets them right, so you have a clean starting point and numbers you can trust.
Bookkeeping that understands contractors
Contractor books aren’t like a typical small business. Jobs overlap, costs hit before revenue, and subcontractors and payroll add complexity. We work with contractors and know where the books tend to go wrong.
- Job costing and profitability. Costs organized by job, so you can see which projects are actually making money
- Subcontractors and 1099s. Sub payments tracked and categorized correctly, with records ready for year-end
- Payroll and labor. Payroll records cleaned up and aligned with your books, including labor assigned to jobs
- Materials, equipment, and vehicles. Expenses sorted accurately instead of landing in “miscellaneous”
- Progress billing and open invoices. Invoices, deposits, and retainage tracked so you know what you’re owed
- Lender- and bonding-ready financials. Clean profit & loss and balance sheet reports for banks, insurance, or surety needs
- Industry experience. Trades we’ve served: general contractors, electricians, HVAC, plumbers, landscapers, roofers, painters
What’s included in a cleanup
Every cleanup is different, but most include:
- Reconciling bank, credit card, and loan accounts
- Finding and correcting errors, duplicates, and miscategorized transactions
- Sorting out uncategorized and missing transactions
- Cleaning up your chart of accounts and, where useful, setting up job or project tracking
- Fixing or setting up QuickBooks so it works the way it should
- Catching up payroll and sales tax records
- Delivering up-to-date financial reports, including profit & loss and balance sheet
What does it cost?
Cleanup is priced by the amount of work your books need, not a flat fee, so you only pay for what’s required. See our pricing and monthly plans for ongoing services.
Every business is different, so pricing is based on the amount of cleanup and service your books require.

Our cleanup service is a good fit if you:

Common questions about cleanup
How far back can you clean up?
As far back as your books need. Whether you’re a few months behind or have years of unreconciled records, we start by reviewing where things stand and give you an honest scope before any work begins. For periods beyond 3 years, we’ll talk through the best approach together.
How long does a cleanup take?
It depends on how much needs fixing: the number of accounts, how many months are behind, and how organized your records are. After we review your books, your proposal will include a clear timeline.
Will you need access to my accounts?
We start with view-only access to your books, so we can review everything and give you an accurate quote without changing anything. Once you approve the proposal, we’ll let you know exactly what we need to complete the work, such as bank statements or bank feed access. This is handled securely using, 2A factor, encrypted messaging and secure document sharing.
You stay in control of your accounts throughout.
